Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • St. Teresa of Avila once said, “Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.” In the first reading, Isaiah declares that the Lord will provide. If we are Christ’s hands and feet, if we are truly Christ in the world, what does that mean for us? How are we called to provide for others? How do we look to others to provide for us? In what ways can we express our gratitude?
  • The psalmist sings, “Even though I walk in the dark valley / I fear no evil; for you are at my side.” Recall a difficult time in your life. Can you recall a way in which God walked with you during that time? Why is it sometimes difficult to see God in the midst of the “dark valley”?
  • Jesus tells the parable of the king who invites guests to his son’s wedding feast, only to have his invitation rejected. What does the parable of the wedding feast tell us about who God is? Who His Son is? How can we respond to God’s constant invitation to the wedding feast in our own lives?
