Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • In the first reading from 2 Kings, we hear the story about how Elisha promised a miracle for the woman who was generous to him in Shunem. Why do you believe that it is so important to extend hands of generosity to each other? What are some examples of moments in your own life when someone was generous with you? When you were generous with others?
  • The second reading from Romans says that we are buried with Jesus through baptism into death. This also means we know new life through Jesus’ resurrection. When have you felt the power of new life? What does it mean to live for God in today’s world?
  • In the Gospel, Jesus tells his Apostles that whoever receives any one of them will also receive him. As followers of God, what is the value in coming together with fellow believer? How does this strengthen our beliefs?
