Saint Joseph

When the Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, he announced the most important news for humankind — she would have a child, the Son of God. However, this news was problematic for Joseph. Fearing that Mary had been involved with another man, Joseph considered leaving her. However, an angel appeared to him in a dream saying “Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” Joseph then decided to stay with Mary, becoming the foster father of Christ. Saint Joseph is the patron saint of the Universal Church, unborn babies, fathers, workers, and much more. His feast day is celebrated on March 19.

Young Adult Ministry Idea: Ask young adults about a time in their lives when they’ve taken on a task that seemed more than they could handle. How did that turn out? How did they cope? Who did they rely on to help them? What lessons did they learn?
