Finding Salvation

Readings for Sunday, February 11, 2018 — Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Leviticus 13:1-2, 44-46; Ps 32: 1-2, 5, 11; 1 Corinthians 10:31-11:1; Mark 1:40-45

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • The psalm today talks of turning to the Lord in times of trouble. The verses speak specifically of occasions of sin. Reflect on a time when you have sinned or been near to sin, a time of trouble. What did your relationship with God feel like? Have you ever felt that God helped you to get out of that trouble? How can we invite God to help us out of our current troubles so that we may feel the joy of salvation?

  • The second reading challenges us to “do everything for the glory of God.” How can you glorify God through the normal, everyday activities of your life?

  • When Jesus heals the leper in today’s Gospel reading, he personally connects with him and physically touches him, even though doing so makes him “unclean” according to the law. When have you reached outside of your comfort zone in order to respond to God’s call to love?
