Prepare the Way

Readings for Sunday, December 6 — Second Sunday of Advent

Baruch 5:1-9; Psalm 126: 1-6; Philippians 1:4-6, 8-11, Luke 3:1-6

Suggested Reflection Questions:

  • The first reading says that God is leading us in joy; how are you doing at following with joy?

  • The psalm talks about how God has done great things for us and uses words like rejoicing, laughter, and gladness. What has been a time in your life when you have truly felt God did a wonderful thing for you. Talk about your own rejoicing, if you’d like.

  • What good works has God begun in you? What is God still working on in you?

  • Who has prepared the way for God in your life? Who has been like John the Baptist and helped to point you in the right direction? Have you filled this role in anyone’s life?
