Last week, a previously unpublished novel by Harper Lee, best known for writing “To Kill a Mockingbird” hit bookshelves. “Go Set a Watchman” picks up years later in the lives of characters we know and love — Atticus Finch and his daughter Scout. The new novel is not without controversy. “To Kill a Mockingbird” is a rite of passage in high school English classes. The moral values and character of Atticus Finch are something we all want to live up to. One memorable part of the novel is when Atticus attempts to teach his young daughter empathy with the lines, “You never really know a man until you understand things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” Talk with young adults about their literary heroes:
