St. Peter Regulatus

St. Peter Regulatus was born to a wealthy family in Spain. He was admitted to the Franciscan order when he was only 13 years old. As a monk at Aguilera, he lived a life of prayerful solitude and poverty. He fasted on bread and water at Lent, and was a virtuous healer. He also ministered to the poor and sick. He died in 1456, and when his body was exhumed in 1492, it was discovered that it had not decomposed at all.

St Peter Regulatus, pray for us as we approach Holy Week. Give us great gifts of love and charity.” — Prayer to St. Peter Regulatus
